This book is a remarkable sequel to the author’s ‘Tumult in the Clouds’ by Lt. Col. James A Goodson is part two of his a autobiography and was published in 1990. Much of this book was spent on his life as a POW/kriegie. It has been stored since purchased in 1991. This book is signed by the Author Lt. Col James A. Goodson and also by one of his wingmen Lt. Bob Wehrman.
Picking up where the first book, Tumult in the Sky, ended this book details his capture by the Germans after being shot down by antiaircraft fire while strafing Neu Brandenburg airdrome on June 20th, 1944. . He was injured and escaped capture for a few days before being caught and handed over to the Gestapo. He talked his way out of summary execution by teaching his interrogator to blow smoke rings and ended up POW in Stalag Luft III until liberation. His nickname was 'King of the Strafers' for his extreme low flying. After being repatriated om April 1945 Goodson left active duty on December 15,1945 and served in the Air Force Reserve until his retirement on March 1, 1959. He was credited with 14 enemy aircraft plus one probable and one damaged in aerial combat. He was credited with another 15 enemy aircraft on the ground as he strafed enemy airfields.
