This book was first printed in 1990 and is centrally focused on the Battle of Midway which was fought from June 4th to June 6th 1942. This epic sea battle was the turning point in the war with Japan. This book is in NEW condition and is signed by George H. Gay Jr., a pilot who was the only survivor of the Torpedo Squadron 8 at the battle of Midway. After he was shot down he watched, wounded wearing a life vest as the most important naval battle of World War II unfolded around him. He could only cheer and holler as the American dive bombers attacked the Japanese aircraft carries . Surviving this engagement and the rest of the war Mr Gay lived to the age of 77 passing away in October 1994.
This soft covered book has been properly stored since its purchase in the nineties and is sold with signature of Lieutenant George H Gay as photographed.
