The Lightning was one of the fastest aircraft in World War II, and in the Pacific it became one the most deadly long-range fighter-bombers of the war.

Photographed is a limited edition print by Robert Taylor titled Lightning Strike signed by Robert Taylor and ten others -

1. Lt. General Jay Robbins who flew with the Fifth Air Force in the Southwest Pacific, rose to command the 8th Fighter Group and finished the war as a quadruple P-38 Ace with 22 air victories.

2. Colonel Gerald Brown, the first P-38 Ace in the 8th Air Force in Europe. -

3. Colonel John Mitchell who flew 457 combat missions in the Pacific, including the famous ‘Yamamoto’ raid in April 1943, and who finished the war with 15 air victories -

4. The P-38 Ace Colonel Rex Barber who was credited with the destruction of Admiral Yamamoto’s plane on the April ‘43 mission.

5. Richard "dick" Andrews winner of silver star retired US Air Force in 1969 -

6. Frank D. Hurlbut Distinguished Flying Cross -

7. Richard "dick" Willsie P-38 pilot ww2, Korea and Vietnam he went on to be commanding officer of the 602 Air Command where he retired in 1974 -

8. Robert D. Haven World War 2 double ace flying _ P-40 and P-38. Three Distinguished Fling Cross awards. Left military after war and was Howard Hughes personal pilot for 30 years.

9. Pete Madison P-38 WW2 pilot and co-founder of Palm springs Air Museum -
